IMSI

Intracytoplasmic morphologically sperm injection

Intracytoplasmic morphologically sperm injection (IMSI) is a technique in assisted reproductive technology which helps embryologists to examine and select healthier sperm using a high magnification microscope to identify certain features of healthier sperm. The morphology of the sperm can be seen in great detail using IMSI with magnification upto 6600 times than the conventional microscope. The morphologically selected sperms are then used for ICSI. We were the first unit in India to install this technology in 2007. We have this technology available in Mumbai, Delhi and Chandigarh.

Step-by-Step Procedure of IMSI

1
The semen sample is evaluated and processed
2
By using a powerful microscope with a high magnification of around 6000, the internal morphology of the sperm is examined.
3
The normal sperm is selected and the abnormal sperms are excluded.
4
Selected sperms are then used for ICSI procedure.
